#10 Anand Lal Shimpi

Anand Lal Shimpi, when he was just 15 years old started a website which carried his reviews of computer hardware on a simple Geocities page, which eventually grew into a mammoth site attracting as much as 50 million page views per month as of 2005. It is now called as AnandTech. Manufacturers began clamoring for his opinion and would deliver hardware to Shimpi’s family home, eager for the publicity a review on anandtech.com would generate. At just 17, his site was so popular that his advertising income was rumored to be approaching $1 million by industry insiders.

He has been featured in USA Today, 48 Hours, 20/20, Fortune Magazine and on G4. He was one of the keynote speakers at Computex 2003 as a celebrity speaker to entice show goers to return to Taiwan even in the wake of SARS.

Anand is also the author of the book AnandTech Guide to PC Gaming Hardware and has a regular column in CPU Magazine called Anand's Corner.
