# Smartphone airbags: This out of the wall idea by Amazon is a device to protect your expensive Smartphones from any falls or breaks, which also doubles up as an airbag in water. The device would be built into the phone and is not available in the market. The CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos patented the idea and the device works like this— a sensor analyzes and records the measurement of the fall through the phone’s gyroscope or the camera and these measurements help calculate if the phone is in a free fall state and if so, will it cause potential damage to it, and then the airbags are deployed to pop out to save the phone from crashing on the floor.
