Pune Girl's Doodle Adores Google's Homepage On Children's Day

Bangalore: A Pune girl’s colorful doodle adores Google’s home page on the occasion of Children’s Day celebrations in India today. The doodle was the winner of Doodle4Google. Now in its fifth year, it is an annual competition held by Google to have children create a logo which will be featured on the company’s home page on Children’s Day.

“I am floating in air,” was the first response of Gayatri Ketharaman, a 15-year-old girl, from Pune after winning the Doodle4Google contest for 2013 with a doodle titled 'Sky's The Limit for Indian Women'. The theme for this year's competition was 'Celebrating Indian Women'.

"Each letter in my doodle depicts a trait of the Indian woman that makes her special. 'G' shows her gracefulness, while the two 'O's show how adept she is at balancing work and home. The next 'G' depicts her as a go-getter, yet she is a mother at heart as shown in the letter 'L'. The final alphabet 'E' shows that even in the face of adversity, she is courageous," Gayatri said, as reported by The Indian Express.
