Apple Reportedly Ended Google Maps Contract With An Year Pending

Bangalore: New reports on Apple iOS 6 Maps flaws is emerging each day and the latest report flashes light into reasons why Google has not yet released a dedicated app for iOS 6. The report on Verge claims after citing industry sources that Apple had over one year left on its contract with Google Maps when it made the decision to replace the app, leaving the internet search giant with little time to develop a standalone version capable of running on iOS 6.

But it seems Google has not made any further progress on building an app for iOS 6, as Eric Schmidt, the chairman of Google recently said, the company has “not done anything yet” for an app. However, according to the New York Times, Google is building a mapping app for iOS, which is expected to be available in the market only by end of this year.

According to the report, the decision to toss Google Maps came at the time of Apple’s WWDC conference and apparently, as rumors spread out, the California search giant had persistently displayed its sheer power in mapping platform by revealing 3D mappings and Street views.

But as of now, after all these iOS Maps flaws, we too think like what Eric Schmidt said: "We think it would have been better if they had kept our Maps.”
