The button follows the scroll bar position on the article and allows the reader to tweet a certain section of the news instantaneously. There are dedicated pages on the website to show the top tweets related to a particular news, event, match or tournament.

In thirty days, more than 1,250 Tweets were generated by ESPN per day out of which ten percent were generated by the Tweet Intent button. About 2 billion videos were watched in 2011 making ESPN the top sports destination of the year.
