Ada Lovelace was often described as the “first computer programmer.” She was a mathematician and writer who in 1942 created an analyst model of Charles Babbage’s early mechanical general-purpose computer, the analytical engine. It was an algorithm encoded for processing by a machine, which is made in a methodic, code like language. Her notes proved keystone for the early history of computers. This pioneer foresaw the capability of computers to go beyond mere calculating or number-crunching abilities.
