7. SQL

SQL- the language which helped run databases all around the world is still doing its work. It is no wonder why that language is still so popular since there is no other way to work with databases that use SQL. There are a lot of database abstraction systems available now, including LINQ and ORMs. Even if developers plan to stop coding for SQL and start for something else, it won’t cause SQL’s death since the systems would automatically generate SQL codes.

8. FORTRAN

Fortran was developed to perform numeric and scientific calculations by IBM and the language came to dominate the entire area of numerical calculations including whether predictions. There is a lot of code written into Fortran based systems and it is basically impossible to replace all these codes.
