Microsoft in order to reach the social networking generation released two phones Kin One and Kin Two. The device provided unique interface that was connected always to the sites like twitter and Facebook. The device was however scrapped by users for expensive data plans from Verizon (network provider and seller) and inability of the device to run third party applications. But due to poor sales Verizon, stopped selling the phone by mid July 2010 and returned the unsold phones to Microsoft.

Microsoft’s much hyped successor to windows XP, which was released in January 2007 was an instant disaster. Windows Vista users were nixed with spotty drivers and intrusive security measures that made even the simplest operations to stumble. Businesses on the other hand completely shunned Vista on concerns about incompatibility with older applications and potential which was beyond typical office PC.
