Microsoft – Skype
The Luxembourg based company, Skype Technologies, was acquired by Microsoft by Microsoft for $8.5 billion on May 10, 2011. The completion of the event marked the official introduction of Skype as a new business division within Microsoft.
Earlier Skype was acquired by eBay in September 2005, and then by an investment group led by Silver Lake in November 2009.
