Tata's Bigbasket expands its EV-first delivery network across 50 cities

Tata Digital-owned grocery e-platform Bigbasket has expanded its electric vehicle (EV) delivery service to 50 Indian cities, solidifying its commitment to green logistics and sustainable future.
The expansion is a part of Bigbasket's green strategy to bring down emissions and create a future-proof logistics network. In its big push to develop its EV capabilities, the company has signed an alliance with Kazam, an EV infrastructure and energy technology startup. The partnership has already led to the deployment of more than 4,000 charging points in 773 sites, along with smart fleet management systems that track energy usage, driver habits, route optimization, and operational effectiveness.
“Our commitment to sustainability is not just aspirational it’s operational,” said TK Balakumar, Chief Operating Officer, Bigbasket. “Through our partnership with Kazam, we’ve scaled our EV logistics with precision and integrated next-gen energy intelligence into our supply chain. Our goal is to reach 60% EV deliveries by 2030.”

So far, Bigbasket has recorded over 3.2 GWh of clean energy use and facilitated more than 64 million kilometers in EV deliveries, driving both environmental impact and operational performance.
