Swiggy Instamart's Surprise: Rolls-out 24/7 Free Delivery in Delhi for Festive season
Swiggy Instamart has started 24/7 free delivery for Delhi-NCR, making it the first rapid commerce platform to do so just before the festive season takes off. Now, clients in Delhi, Gurugram and Noida can enjoy 10-15 minute delivery for tens of thousands of products—whether it’s groceries, festive pleasures, or last-minute requirements.
The decision, according to Swiggy, which is headed for an IPO, is a reaction to growing demand, particularly late at night when last-minute festival preparations are at their height. Breakfast staples like milk and eggs are ordered as the day breaks, according to Instamart, which has noticed a spike in orders for pleasures like snacks, ice cream, and necessities between 11 pm and 6 am.
With the goal of making the service available to as many customers as possible nationwide, Instamart will assess expanding to additional large cities after Delhi-NCR. Instamart, which was founded in 2020 and is presently active in 43 cities, is a competitor in the fast or expedited delivery market alongside Blinkit, Zepto, and Bigbasket.
Regarding this, the company said in a press release, “During the festive season, especially around celebratory occasions such as Diwali parties, customers order throughout the night. Swiggy Instamart's order analysis reveals that late-night orders for indulgences like chips, bhujia, and ice creams, sexual wellness products, and pan corner essentials continue to come in between 11 PM to 6 AM. As the night fades, the focus shifts to breakfast staples such as milk and eggs being ordered”.
