Mysuru Startup Co-founders Found Dead in Their US Home

Harshavardhana Kikkeri, an Mysuru tech entrepreneur, was found dead along with his wife and son at their home near Seattle, Washington, last week. Authorities believe the case could be one of murder-suicide, as reported by The Seattle Times.

The King County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the identities of the victims on Monday as 57-year-old Harshavardhana Kikkeri, chief executive officer of robotics firm HoloWorld, his wife, 44-year-old Shwetha Panyam, who founded the company, and their 14-year-old son. The three were discovered inside their townhouse at 129th Place Southeast on Thursday night (local US time).

The King County Sheriff’s Office reported that officers responded to a 911 call around 7 PM. Upon arrival, deputies discovered blood on a front window and a single hollow-point bullet on the street outside the home.

Detectives are now looking into the exact cause and chain of events leading up to the accident. "These types of investigations take time, and our detectives are working tirelessly to reconstruct what caused this tragedy," sheriff's spokesman Brandyn Hull told The Seattle Times.

Fortunately, the couple's younger son, who was seven years old, survived the incident since he was outside the home when the disaster struck. The neighbors characterized the family as quiet and reserved. Alex Gumina, the homeowners association president, said that they were known for being quiet.

Harshavardhana Kikkeri was from Kikkeri village in Karnataka. He received his early education in Mysuru before moving to the US, where he obtained a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University. He worked at top tech firms, including Microsoft, where he was an expert in robotics and innovation.

As per his TEDx talk description on YouTube, Kikkeri had 44 international patents in the US, China, Japan, and Europe. He has been awarded many laurels, such as the Gold Star by Microsoft, an Infosys Excellence Award, and a Bharat Petroleum Scholarship, and also won various chess championships.
