Kiko Live Serves Disruption with ONDC-Exclusive Food App 'Tabe'
- Kiko Live launches India’s first food-only ONDC buyer app, Tabe.
- Tabe offers food delivery at up to 30% lower prices, thanks to ONDC's low commission model.
- Over 75,000 restaurants onboarded; early success with 100+ daily orders and 20% repeat rate.
Kiko Live, a retail-first digital platform enabling local stores, has launched Tabe India's first and sole food-specialized buyer-side application based on the government-supported Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
In contrast to the other buyer apps targeting other retail categories, Tabe is solely dedicated to food and beverage orders with a simple, uncluttered user interface similar to mass-market food ordering apps. The Japanese character "Tabe," which means "eat food," aptly captures the app's sole purpose: making meal orders simple, economical, and transparent.
“We created Tabe with one clear vision to deliver ONDC’s affordability and openness directly to food lovers, without compromising on the digital experience they’re used to,” said Alok Chawla, Co-Founder of Kiko Live. “By going food-only, we’ve streamlined the interface, making discovery easier for users and the platform more beneficial for restaurants.”
Established in 2020, Kiko Live empowers small retailers to start and grow their delivery businesses with its SaaS-based solution. With Tabe, it further strengthens its mission to support local businesses with a cost-effective and competitive platform to grow.
By concentrating 100% on food, Tabe avoids category overload and provides 30% reduced prices compared to traditional food delivery platforms. This is facilitated by the low commission fees of ONDC (3–8%), which differ from the 30–45% cut by the incumbents enabling restaurants to transfer savings directly to the consumer.

The application currently has more than 75,000 restaurant listings, with big F&B players such as McDonald's, KFC, Pizza Hut, Burger King, EatFit, Baskin Robbins, and several more. Regional domination is also robust, with 15,000+ listings in Bengaluru, 10,000 in Delhi NCR, and 5,000 in each Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Pune.
In only one week since launch, Tabe is registering 100+ daily orders and has an impressive 20% repeat customer ratio, signifying early traction and positive user uptake.
