Inspiring Stories of 6 Indian Entrepreneurs Who Made It Big
Nitin Shah:
Nitin Shah aptly opted for Fire Protection Services, which led to him to be the only largest fire service provider in the world. His company offers all types of protection products, inert gases and chemical gases.
To reach to such height was not an easy task for Nitin who barely possessed
20 in hand during his days of unemployment.
In January 1984, he started working at an Auto garage after borrowing
500 from few of his friends. By then, Nitin has completed his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. He built useful contacts while working and used them accordingly.
A Senior Advisor in Department of Atomic Energy told Nitin about a maintenance contract being given out for the fire extinguishers, which requires maintenance and repair of Firefighting Cylinders. Nitin had put his heart and soul to acquire the project and had done a decent job.
Having acquired experience in DEA, in six months time Nitin saved up enough money to buy a 1,200 Square feet space at Ghatkopar for
20 Lakh and set up Nitin Fire Protection Industry. He soon acquired a maintenance project for ONGC in 1986.
From then on the company never looked back. It is now a leading Fire Protection Service provider not just in India but also in UAE, South Asia and Europe. Their annual sale is now over 110 Million U.S. Dollars. In June 2007, he even went public to fund expansion plans. The size of the Initial Public Offering was
