India and Israel Plan Startup Bridge to Push Deep-Tech Innovation
  • India and Israel sign Terms of Reference to expand tech and startup collaboration
  • Nations exploring a 'startup bridge' to boost deep-tech innovation
  • Partnership to focus on cybersecurity, mobility, climate tech, green steel, and med-tech

India and Israel have agreed to deepen cooperation in technology, innovation, and startups after signing the Terms of Reference (ToR) during Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal’s visit to Israel. One of the key proposals under this new framework is the creation of a 'startup bridge' to help the two countries share expertise, scale innovation, and strengthen deep-tech development.

Goyal said both nations will now evaluate different elements of the partnership, with technology and innovation forming the center of the collaboration. He noted that India sees major potential in working with Israel’s world-leading tech and research ecosystem, especially to accelerate India’s own startup growth.

He added that India aims to reach global leadership in startups and deep-tech innovation, supported by its large market and strong talent base. According to Goyal, Israeli startups and businesses have shown strong enthusiasm for partnering with India because of its scale, opportunities, and future-driven economy.

The Minister highlighted several sectors where both countries can collaborate meaningfully, including cybersecurity, mobility solutions, climate action, low-carbon green steel, and medical technology. He said joint innovation in these areas can bring purpose, scale, and impact, creating new pathways for industry and research partnerships.

The ToR signing also marks the beginning of negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and Israel, which is expected to further strengthen economic ties.
