Coimbatore will host Tamil Nadu Global Startup Summit (TNGSS) on October 9 and 10 at Codissia Trade Fair Complex with delegates from 39 nations attending the meet. The summit to be inaugurated by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin aims to establish Tamil Nadu as a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship.
A recent stakeholders' meet, where the state's MSME minister T.M. Anbarasan launched a specially dedicated TNGSS mobile app, saw plans unveiled for the agenda and arrangements of the summit as well as its online outreach. The mobile app is meant to provide the participants with comprehensive information such as profiles of noted speakers and prospective investors for networking and interaction.
Around 264 foreign delegates are expected, along with a substantial number of Indian startup founders and personnel from ten central and state government departments. Startups based in Tamil Nadu will be actively demonstrating their innovations, and an exhibition will highlight projects undertaken by both student entrepreneurs and mature companies.

Anbarasan pointed out that the state has established a conducive environment for new ventures: in 2021, Tamil Nadu saw only 2,032 startups registered, but that figure has since ballooned to 12,171, with 6,063 of them being started by women. He confirmed that the chief minister is determined to make the state a top destination for international startup activity.
Preparatory session for the summit saw the presence of the important officials like additional chief secretary of the MSME department, Atul Anand; district collector of Coimbatore, Pavan Kumar G. Giriyappanavar; corporation commissioner of the city, M. Sivaguru Prabakaran; StartupTN Mission Director & CEO Sivarajah Ramanathan; and others like Karthikeyan of Codissia and Shankar Vanavarayar of Kumaraguru Institutions.
By merging global involvement, state patronage, student entrepreneurship, and a strong platform for exposure, TNGSS in Coimbatore seeks to accelerate startup development not just in Tamil Nadu but all of India, projecting the state's intent to spearhead the country's entrepreneurial renaissance.
