Chandrababu Naidu Launches Ratan Tata Innovation Hub to Boost Startups

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu opened the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub at Mayuri Tech Park in Mangalagiri, terming it a milestone in taking the state to the status of a center for innovation and entrepreneurship. Developed in association with Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran, the hub will provide young entrepreneurs and startups mentorship, access to resources, and a supportive ecosystem.

Naidu indicated that the hub will operate on a 'hub and spoke' model, with its central hub in Amaravati and satellite hubs in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Anantapur, and a sixth location to be announced soon. He also announced plans to expand innovation centers to every 175 assembly constituencies over time so that youth in every part of the state will have an opportunity to nurture and present their ideas.

The event was accompanied by a brilliant achievement by the Andhra Pradesh Innovation Society, which entered the Guinness World Records for enrolling 1,67,321 innovations and business startups within 24 hours. Officials from Guinness handed over the certificate to Naidu at the event. He subsequently visited startup exhibition booths at the venue, viewing prototypes and meeting young entrepreneurs.

Referring to the late Ratan Tata in his speech, the Chief Minister stated that the hub will continue his legacy and called him an icon of humility and service. "We are establishing this innovation hub to preserve Ratan Tata's ideas and ensure they motivate future generations. His doctrine of giving back to society has led us to set up these facilities", Naidu stated. He encouraged the youth to look for opportunities in agritech, education, healthcare, and defense, and further stated, "I don't think technology will result in job loss; rather, Andhra Pradesh's industrialists should expand to cater to the global community".

Naidu reemphasized his catchword of 'one entrepreneur from every family' and looked back at his previous policies that turned Andhra Pradesh into an IT and engineering education trailblazer. He spoke of positioning Amaravati as a hub for quantum computing and AI, stressing the need to generate wealth to drive welfare. “We must generate more wealth to increase government revenue and deliver welfare. There’s no communism or capitalism only tourism, which provides massive employment. Our goal is an industrial park in every constituency”, he said.

Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran referred to the hub as a convergence of thoughts that would revolutionize startups in health, defence, agriculture, and so on. "I wish this Ratan Tata Innovation Hub becomes an intersection of millions of ideas. CM Chandrababu, visionary in his leadership, has given shape to this hub in a short span of time", he stated. Education Minister, IT, and Electronics Nara Lokesh further said that the project was not only a dedication to the values of Ratan Tata but also a beacon of hope for the young people of Andhra Pradesh.
