Bhavish Aggarwal & his Ola Electric faces Social Media Storm due to 'Poor User Service'
Due to the company's poor service, Ola Electric and its Founder, Bhavish Aggarwal, are currently facing a social media storm. Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra's initial tweet criticizing Ola's service escalated into a verbal duel between the two, with irate customers and even market participants joining in.
Kamra quoted Bhavish Aggarwal's tweet on Sunday, which featured an image of the Ola Gigafactory. A photo of numerous Ola Electric two-wheelers laying outside what looks to be an Ola showroom was included in Kamra's tweet.
He also tagged Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in his tweet and asked anyone experiencing problems with Ola Electric to reply.
Aggarwal termed Kamra a failing stand-up comedian and his tweet a "paid one" in reaction to Kamra's message. Ola Electric is aggressively growing its service network and would remove all backlogs "soon," Aggarwal added.
Social media users reacted negatively to Aggarwal's tweet, criticizing him for Ola's poor service. Aggarwal's tweet was also met with a reaction from N Jayakumar of Prime Securities.
A few consumers also mentioned in their responses that their tickets from weeks ago are still unanswered.
Brokerage company HSBC also said in a note dated September 26 that Ola Electric's service quality is a crucial issue that would need to be resolved prior to the introduction of its motorcycles.
Ola Electric is recommended for "buy" by HSBC, with a price objective of ?140.
Ola Electric debuted on the stock market in August following a 4.45 times subscription to its ?6,145 crore initial public offering. Ola Electric's shares shot up to a post-IPO high of ?157.4, having floated at exactly its IPO price of ?76. The stock has been falling ever since, breaking below the ?100 barrier on Friday.
