Startups Revamp The Recruitment Process to Discover Unique Talents

BENGALURU: The job market is flooding with loads of competition in every industry, forcing candidates to explore every possible option in getting a job. Likewise, startup companies are only focused on finding the right candidates based on their talents and qualifications. Cutting down the traditional recruitment process, companies are trying to adopt hassle free and innovative ways of finding talented individuals, reports Brinda Dasgupta and Richa Maheshwari from ET Bureau.

Stylumia Intelligence Technology is a data based startup dealing with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computer Vision. The company's website displays a page with five multiple choice questions for candidates as a part of their initial recruitment process. Candidates are expected to answer all questions correctly within a time limit of 20 minutes, to get qualified for a face-to-face interview. Aim of the questionnaire is to filter talented candidates from the masses and save time effectively. BankBazaar, TravelTriangle, Belong, Letscorp and Treebo Hotels are some other firms that have implemented this latest recruitment process.

"We saw a lot of time and effort wasted with traditional search methods. After internal discussions, we decided to use technology and started this process in January. Until now, 176 candidates have applied, out of which only nine have cleared the test," said Ganesh Subramanian, Founder and CEO of Stylumia and former Chief Operating Officer of Myntra.

TravelTriangle is another company providing attractive travel packages online. The firm conducts interviews to access the personality of candidates by offering them with a specific story problem. Result of the interview portrays basic traits of the interviewee in an innovative manner.
