BANGALORE: Desidime, a Mumbai based startup has formed an online shopping community, which gives an enhanced shopping experience to shoppers  by providing coupons, deals and a forum to interact with other users. The blooming venture has deals listed on its platform from leading shopping portals including Flipkart, Snapdeal, Jabong, Amazon and much more.

Desidime was founded by Mehul Jobanputra, CEO and Cofounder and Jimish Jobanputra, CTO & Cofounder in 2011 and has 1.2 million posts in the forum on daily basis. The startup boasts of helping users save more than 300 crores in last two years in online shopping vertical. With over 2 lakh deals listed in the website since its inception, the website gets a daily traffic that counts to over 60,000.

The biggest challenge that the startup faced was to build an efficient community that is interactive and well connected. The budding venture bootstrapped itself and started with just 5 employees and has grown today to a strength of 25 employees.

With over fifty thousand downloads, the Desidime app is currently available on Android platform and will be soon available for other operating systems.

 The startup earns 3 to 10 percent margin on electronic goods and 10 to 15 percent on the deals over fashion and apparel goods. “Desidime along with other players in the space contribute to nearly 15 percent in revenue for the online portals,” added Mehul.
