5 Offbeat Food Startups with Innovative Ideas

Eggjactly and Sushi House Mafia

Founded by: Vikrant Misra, Lvanika Parti

Food trucks are a hotcake in all over U.S. since the last few years, for serving quirky menus at a very less cost. Former retail executive at Provogue, Vikrant Misra also brought the same thought for his own venture, Eggjactly and Sushi House Mafia- two food trucks, in India about two years ago. He and his business partner Lvanika Parti while scouting for a cafe location in Gurgaon soon realized "instead of a security deposit of Rs 15-20 lakh for a location that may or may not work, I thought it was better to invest the same in a moveable restaurant that I could take to different places even if one location does not work."

Misra's drives his two trucks himself, which are GPS-enabled and move around the NCR, can be tracked through live social media posts. The truck mostly serves mostly American-style food —eggs, waffles, milkshakes, fry —to attract young, corporate customers.
