360 ONE Asset, the AMG for the wealth side of 360 ONE WAM, has launched a Rs 500 crore venture capital fund targeting early-stage startups. This further strengthens the firm's capital approach from "Idea to IPO" and a major entrance into India's vibrant startup spaces.
The fund will mostly make investments at seed and Series A levels across sectors where growth trends are very high, including consumer tech, fintech infrastructure, generative AI, advanced tech sectors like spacetech, defence, and precision manufacturing.
With 360 ONE Asset's $3 billion PE platform behind it, the strategy emphasizes providing active engagement through board participation and long-term support. "India is on the cusp of an economic upsurge driven by startups. Our early-stage strategy is intended to back the next wave of unicorns," said Sameer Nath, CIO & Head of Private Equity & Venture Capital, 360 ONE Asset.
Abhishek Nag further stated, "We are aiming to fill the gap that exists between micro-VCs in India and the big international funds. Here at 360 ONE Asset, our patients comprise money willing to stay engaged for long periods, with co-investment opportunities, and clear exit routes aligned to macro trends rising domestic consumption, digital finance, healthcare innovation, AI, and deep tech."
The fund has already put its money into four exciting ventures: a hybrid-casual gaming startup that’s racked up over 10 million downloads, an Indian hot sauce brand that’s making waves on the global stage, a SaaS company that’s come up with a "mutual fund AMC in a box," and a spacetech startup working on indigenous Synthetic Aperture Radar systems in collaboration with ISRO.
