The company was founded by Krishna Chidambaresh and co. Krishna had previously worked in service as an appliances company, sold software, credit cards and worked in a call center but he never found the drive or the challenge in his work, that was when he contacted his childhood friend Showkant, and they agreed to begin a venture named Yo! Potato, a name suggested by Showkant’s wife who had an advertising background.
Yo! Potatodelivers food from any restaurant you choose for a nominal fee of 80 irrespective of the bill amount.
For the first six months Yo! Potato did not charge anything to its customers and delivered for free. At the time they had nearly 800 orders per month. Once they began charging the customers the orders fell to 100 and now it has picked up to 700 per month.
There have been some management changes and now Yo! Potato is managed by Krishna and Pawan Kumar. Eventually Yo! Potato plans not charge a fee from its customers instead it will generate its revenue from the restaurants.
