PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen Lead India at Indonesia Masters 2025

Indian Ace shuttlers, PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen, and men's double pair Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, will head the challenge at the Indonesia Masters 2025 that will take place from this Tuesday in Jakarta. The Indians will look for exciting matches where they will also look to punch above their weights.
PV Sindhu, ranked 16th in the women's singles world rankings, will begin her campaign against world No 32 Nguyen Thuy Linh of Vietnam. In addition to Sindhu, Aakarshi Kashyap, Anupama Upadhyaya, and Rakshitha Ramraj will also feature in the women's singles draw at the Indonesia Masters.
Among men's singles events, world no 12 Lakshya Sen, who recently suffered early defeats at Malaysia Open and India Open this month, will seek a comeback in round of 32 against Japan's Takuma Obayashi. Besides Sen, Priyanshu Rajawat and Kiran George too would play for India at the premier meet.
The men's doubles will be represented by the world's 9th-ranked players, Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy. The duo will look forward to making it through the semis of the Malaysia and India Opens competitions in this year. They also formed part of the team that India claimed victory in at the 2023 Indonesia Open Super 1000.
India’s representation in the women’s doubles event comes from Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto, who will face Thailand’s Ornnicha Jongsathapornparn and Sukitta Suwachai in the opening round. Tanisha Crasto will also compete in the mixed doubles alongside Dhruv Kapila, where they will take on Indonesia’s Adnan Maulana and Indah Cahya Sari Jamil.
The Indian squad for the Indonesia Masters 2025 includes:
- Men's singles: Lakshya Sen, Priyanshu Rajawat, Kiran George, Kidambi Srikanth (Q), Ayush Shetty (Q)
- Men's doubles: Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty
- Women's singles: PV Sindhu, Aakarshi Kashyap, Rakshitha Ramraj, Anupama Upadhyaya, Isharani Baruah (Q), Tanya Hemnath (Q)
- Women's doubles: Ashwini Ponnappa-Tanisha Crasto
- Mixed doubles: Tanisha Crasto-Dhruv Kapila, Rohan Kapoor-Ruthvika Gadde.
