KKR Looks to Bounce Back Against Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025 Clash
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are ready to turn the tables over Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 39th game of the current Indian Premier League 2025, to be held on Monday, April 21, at the historic Eden Gardens. The champions from last season will look to strengthen their troubled batting unit against table-toppers and IPL 2022 winners.
Ajinkya Rahane's team and he himself had a mysterious meltdown in their last outing, getting dismissed for only 95 while attempting to chase down 112 from Punjab Kings in Mullanpur. Nevertheless, the three-time IPL title-winners have an inkling of hope, since they have recruited Abhishek Nayar, who was lately terminated by the Indian Cricket Board. This return of Nayar, who was already a past coach of the franchise, is likely to strengthen the KKR team, considering their success in the previous year. Significantly, Kolkata must win five of the next seven matches to remain in the playoff hunt.
Conversely, the in-form and table-toppers Gujarat Titans enjoyed themselves while chasing the target in their previous match against the Delhi Capitals. Interestingly, the match was held at the historic Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. The talented wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler scored a gracious knock of an unbeaten 97* runs. Consequently, GT chased down the target of 204 runs with four balls remaining.
