India will tour Sri Lanka for six white-ball matches in July-August 2024
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced that India will visit Sri Lanka for a six-match white-ball series in July to August 2024. The series will take place after next year's Men's T20 World Cup, held in the West Indies and USA from June. According to the men's international calendar released by SLC, Sri Lanka will play 52 matches in 2024, including 10 Tests, 21 ODIs, and 21 T20Is. Despite being under ICC suspension, SLC is committed to fulfilling their men's and women's international commitments.
Sri Lanka's international cricket calendar for the upcoming months is set to begin with a home series against Zimbabwe in January. The series will comprise of three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). After this, Sri Lanka is scheduled to play against Afghanistan during the January-February period. The series against Afghanistan will include one Test match, three ODIs and three T20Is.
The team will then head to Bangladesh for an all-format tour before going to the West Indies and USA for the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup. After hosting India for white-ball matches, Sri Lanka will travel to England for three Tests, and followed by hosting New Zealand for two Tests in September.
In October, the West Indies cricket team will visit Sri Lanka to play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Following this, New Zealand will also arrive in Sri Lanka to play the same number of matches. Sri Lanka will then travel to South Africa to play two Test matches, before ending their year with three ODIs and three T20Is in New Zealand.
