ICC T20 World Cup 2021; India's Transitional Phase to a Stronger Team

ICC T20 World Cup 2021; India's Transitional Phase to a Stronger Team

The T20 format seems to be cricket’s devastating feeling in the present world. Close on the heels of the Indian Premier League. The ICC T20 World Cup commenced on 17 October, and matches are held in the United Arab Emirates and Oman from 17 October to 14 November 2021.

There was a previous (2020) T20 World Cup held in Australia from 18 October to 15 November 2020. Still, in July 2020, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that this tournament had been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In August 2020, the ICC declared that India would host the 2021 tournament as organized, with Australia as the host for the next 2022 tournament. Nevertheless, in June 2021, the ICC declared that the tournament had been migrated to the United Arab Emirates due to increasing anxieties over the COVID-19 pandemic situation and likely third wave of the pandemic in India.

MS Dhoni’s presence as a mentor

s

T20 trend was notably evident when M.S. Dhoni's men won the inaugural ICC World T20, as the quickest format's World Cup was then called, in South Africa in 2007. Dhoni, regarded as one of India's best-ever captains. Dhoni is the most successful captain in white-ball cricket in his cabinet with all 3 ICC titles, the 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 World Cup, and 2013 Champions Trophy. Dhoni, who recently led Chennai Super Kings to their fourth Indian Premier League (IPL) title after beating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the final, has joined the Indian team in his new role mentor of the team. Dhoni's role as a mentor of Team India is limited to the T20 World Cup. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli gets another opportunity to lay his hands on ICC silverware, which continues his captaincy resume. He is also giving up his T20 captaincy after the championship should push him further towards this goal.

Final

Defending champion West Indies, Australia, South Africa, England, and New Zealand may favor their chances, but this tournament isn’t entirely about the traditional teams. It is also around Scotland accelerating its way in or Afghanistan setting up despite the riot back home. Desire floats, and India wants to finish on the winning side when the championship ends on November 14.
