How Technology Changed the Game Called Sports

LZR Racer (Swimming)

Manufactured by Speedo using a high-technology swimwear fabric that comprises of woven elastane-nylon and polyurethane, LZR series was launched in 2008 and the most recent edition being LZR X launched in 2015. The suit was developed with NASA’s wind tunnel testing facilities and the fluid flow analysis software supported the design. It reduces skin friction drag 24 percent more than the previous swimsuit. The suit also allows for better oxygen flow to the muscles by repelling water and holding the body more in a hydrodynamic position. Outstandingly, LZR Racer broke 13 swimming world records and was effective in reducing the racing times of competitive swimmers by 1.9 to 2.2 percent.
