On Chinese fabricating badminton players

The silver girl believes that the Chinese are unbeatable. She believes that strategy is what wins games for the players. Sindhu believes that they were dominating the badminton arena for long now, but now things are changing slowly. “Until the last Olympics, they (China) won 5 on 5 (gold medals) in badminton, but this time they have two gold. I feel things have changed,” added Sindhu.

On playing aggressively against “Friends”

When asked about competing against friends, Sindhu said that she has many good friends in the Chinese badminton circuit as well but when it comes to competing with them, she only concentrates on winning. “It doesn't matter even if she is your friend. When it comes to the game, it's only you,” added Sindhu.

On a young girl wanting an autograph and a picture

The shuttle queen believes that it is her game which has gained her so many fans. “I think many of them came to take a picture because they all said that they like my game,” commented Sindhu. The wonder girl also recalled instances where people have appreciated her of winning against the Chinese players.

On whether she’s from Telangana or Andhra?

She smiled brightly and with a proud feel on her face, she said, “I am an Indian”.
