'Vande Mataram' Resounds in Vienna Amid Warm Welcome for PM Modi
A special rendition of the song 'Vande Mataram' by Austrian artists welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he reached the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Vienna. This was the befitting welcome that marked Modi's maiden visit to Austria the first in more than 41 years by an Indian PM.
PM Modi's visit to Austria on Tuesday began with the warm welcome of the Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer at the airport and was followed up with the musical tribute outside the hotel. Members of the Indian community have also accorded a warm welcome to the Prime Minister.
PM Modi will call on the President of Austria, Alexander Van der Bellen, and hold talks with Chancellor Nehammer to further strengthen the bilateral relationship.
Chancellor Nehammer welcomed PM Modi with a private dinner and underscored the friendship and partnership between Austria and India. The Austrian leader tweeted a photo of the couple as Nehammer had written, "Delighted to welcome @narendramodi to Vienna. Indeed looking forward to a productive political and business exchange".
PM Modi thanked Chancellor Nehammer for the warm reception and showed his eagerness for their upcoming discussions, with regard to reaffirming India's commitment toward cooperating in many global initiatives with Austria.
Warm interactions between PM Modi and Chancellor Nehammer on social media include photos of a friendly clasp together in an embrace and a selfie clicked by Nehammer with PM Modi to symbolize this close bond between the two leaders.
PM Modi kept saying in one of his posts that India and Austria were powerful friends, and their friendship would grow in the future.
