Top 15 Cars Sold In India

#10 Ford Figo

Ford Figo, the tenth on the list, could mark a good increase in sales in August 2012, selling 6295 units in India. Launched in March 2010 in the Indian market, Figo is the best-selling model from Ford in India that saved the company from going into losses.

The highlights of this family vehicle are its packaging, pricing and engine options. In 2011, from January to August, the company sold a total of 48,017 units, an average of over 6000 units per month. It is known for the comfortable ride it offers and for its roomed interior. The car has 15.6-20 kmpl mileage, and its petrol engine is lacking fuel economy.

#11 Maruti Suzuki Omni

The much accepted MPV, Maruti Suzuki Omni has recorded unaffected sales in August 2012, selling 5921 units. The perfect vehicle for large Indian families, Omni is also a best-seller in the taxi segment, especially in the hill-stations. The sliding door, tight turning circle and the peppy engine fit the vehicle for taxi usage. Apart from that, Maruti Omni is a cargo variant too coming in both LPG and CNG variants. With the engine being situated under the co-driver’s seat makes it an unfavorable option for summer; the car also lacks safety features.
