Thomas Cook and SOTC Expand China Holiday Options for Indian Travelers
  • Thomas Cook India and SOTC Travel expand their China tour offerings amid rising demand.
  • Direct flights and easier visas fuel strong interest from leisure and business travelers.
  • China also gaining popularity as a top destination for MICE and corporate events.

Thomas Cook (India) Limited and its group company SOTC Travel have expanded their holiday portfolio in China, tapping into the growing interest among Indian travelers. The move comes as India-China relations strengthen, direct flight services resume, and visa procedures ease, making travel more accessible and appealing.

Internal data from both companies shows a significant spike in bookings, with tours selling out even during typical low travel periods like October and November. Encouraged by this momentum, Thomas Cook and SOTC have broadened their China holiday offerings to include new destinations and experiences tailored to today’s Indian holidaymaker.

The renewed China focus is not limited to leisure travel. Improved infrastructure, increasing flight options, and the return of major trade events are making China a hot spot for corporate travel and the MICE segment (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions). Cities like Shanghai, Beijing, and Chengdu are emerging as leading hubs for business gatherings and events.

"We’ve extended our China portfolio to include more diverse regions and experiences. China’s world-class venues and unique incentives also make it a strong contender in the MICE space", he said.

With this strategic expansion, Thomas Cook India and SOTC are positioning themselves to serve both leisure and business travelers eyeing China as their next destination.
