Apart from the beach resorts, parties and the casinos, there is one other thing which beckons the crowd to return to this beautiful haven over and over – the Goan cuisine. Influenced by Hindu, Muslim and Portuguese cultures, it has certain dishes which are only found in Goa. Meat, pork and seafood are the staple food and they prepared using a lot of spices and coconut. Chicken Xacuti

Also called as chacuti, this dish is generally prepared during festivals. It is a curry which is prepared using poppy seeds, grated coconut and dried chilies. It is generally served with rice and is absolutely delicious. In some places people also prepare the dish using lamb in place of chicken.
