In an unprecedented move for Indian medicine, Patanjali University, Haridwar, organized a two-day international conference, "Anamayam", which brought the burgeoning energy behind integrative medicine into focus. Patanjali Research Institute and Central Sanskrit University (New Delhi) co-hosted the event, which saw more than 300 delegates from 200 institutions in 16 states gather on a high-impact platform to deliberate on the integration of Ayurveda with modern medical science.
At the inaugural session, Patanjali University Chancellor Swami Ramdev made a historic announcement: Patanjali Ayurved Hospital will shortly partner top medical establishments AIIMS, Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital, and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital to provide affordable, integrated care blending ancient wisdom with evidence-based state-of-the-art medicine. "Healthcare must be of the people, by the people, and for the people, not for-profit," Swami Ramdev insisted.
Three of the biggest Patanjali books Ayurveda Avataran, Integrated Pathy, and the Conference Proceedings of Anamayam were inaugurated at the event. It also signed an MoU with IIT Ropar to provide opportunities for research and educational collaborations at a higher level.

Acharya Balkrishna, Vice Chancellor of Patanjali University, noted that Ayurveda’s strength lies in its holistic and global approach, unlike some region-bound modern practices. He reiterated Patanjali’s commitment to combating the commercial exploitation of healthcare through accessible, integrative, and research-backed treatments.
The conference invited prominent dignitaries such as Prof. Srinivas Barkhedi (Vice Chancellor, Central Sanskrit University), Dr. B.N. Gangadhar (Padma Shri recipient and Chairman, National Medical Commission), and Prof. Vishal Mago (AIIMS Rishikesh). Researchers from reputed institutions such as AIIMS, Jadavpur University, and Patanjali Ayurved College shared research on integrative diagnostics for COPD and fistula.
The conference started off with a traditional ceremonial welcoming, consisting of lamp lighting, garlanding the guests, and devotional hymns. A parallel poster symposium conducted by senior medical educators provided academic substance to the event.
With the combination of ancient Ayurvedic concepts and scientific validation, the "Anamayam" conference is being seen as a significant step towards collective, affordable, and inclusive healthcare for everyone.
