NYFW 2016: Desi Girls Set the International Ramp Ablaze

Ranked as one of the top models in the country, Pooja, a native of Ahmedabad, started her career at the age of 22 and is now living the life that she always aspired to. This five-ft-nine dusky model has been touted as one of the top 10 fresh faces to know for 2016 by UK's Dazed & Confused.
In a country like India, where modeling is frowned upon and is strongly discouraged (especially by parents), she followed her heart and did what she felt right, with only the support of her brother. This former computer engineering student had made her modeling debut at Louis Vuitton’s cruise 2015 show in Palm Springs in May.
Recalling her time in fashion industry, she said, "All the designers I have met, they're so well known, yet they were all so grounded. They do their work without getting big headed. It never felt like I was talking to big personalities.”
