Narayana Health, India's First Healthcare Chain To Set-Up A Hospital In The Western World
The Cayman government is a key supporter of HCCI and has reduced regulatory barriers and provided various incentives and cooperative actions to the project. This project will act as a major initiative, designed to expand the country’s economic base beyond tourism and financial services. A Board of Directors with representatives from Ascension Health Alliance and Narayana Health, as well as the Cayman business community guide Health City Cayman Islands (HCCI).
Health City Cayman Islands is a US$2-billion project to be built in phases over 15 years on a 200-acre site in the High Rock area of East End on Grand Cayman. It will include a tertiary-care hospital, an educational facility, a biotech park, and an assisted living community. The project will aim to house 2000 beds post completion. An official groundbreaking ceremony was held on August 27, 2012 for this project. The first phase of the project costing $70-million was completed in 18 months.
The Group has innovated with the concept of ‘health cities’, which it defines as ‘one point for all healthcare needs.’ NH’s first health city was set up in the outskirts of Bangalore, India and has plans to replicate this successful healthcare model internationally.
