It is no news that the compact crossover segment in India is touted as one of the fastest growing segments in the country, which is steadily getting crowded as new entrants continue to pop up to grab a piece of the lucrative sales pie. Maruti Suzuki India was one of the first auto companies to present its compact crossover concept, the XA Alpha. The model will be available in both petrol and diesel variants, with the former being the tried-and-tested 1.2-litre K-Series motor or a new 1.0-litre turbocharged 'Boosterjet' engine. The latter could either be a Fiat Multijet or Maruti's in-house engine.
