Mahindra NuvoSport Compact SUV to Launch on 4th April

BENGALURU: Mahindra’s sub 4-meter SUV Quanto is all set to get a facelift with a new christened name NuvoSport. Designed and developed by the company’s in-house design team, the SUV will launch by 4th April, 2016 and hit the showrooms with highest standards of quality and safety, reports NDTV Auto.

The Mahindra Nuvosport SUV shows off cosmetic updates like rugged black bumpers, faux skid plate, LED DRLs and many more. It shares its substructure with the new Scorpio and gets new wheel arches housing new 5-spoke alloy wheels. It continues to get the rear mounted spare wheel and angular tail lamps.

As far as the interiors and other specifications are concerned, the details are not out as yet and will be revealed at the time of its launch. An AMT transmission is also on the cards for the Nuvosport and pricing particulars are unknown too. The SUV will most probably comply with the new BNVSAP safety standards and is expected to get optional dual airbags from the base variant itself.

Pravin Shah, President and Chief Executive, (Automotive), Mahindra said, "Today, Mahindra enjoys the strongest equity in the SUV segment in India. Being a customer centric organization we identified a need gap in the market and designed the NuvoSport to meet the needs of those customers who lead an active lifestyle and are looking for a sporty and fun to drive SUV. I am sure that with the addition of the NuvoSport, we will further consolidate our leadership in the SUV segment and effectively address the entire gamut of customer segments across price points ranging all the way from 4.5 lakh to 25 lakh."
