Isha Ambani Steals the Spotlight at Met Gala Once Again
Isha Ambani chose a monochrome appearance for Met Gala 2025. Isha Ambani returns with another legendary look at the Met Gala. The style icon, who has been going to 'fashion's biggest night' for several consecutive years, never fails and this time was no exception.
Following this year's theme of 'Tailored for You,' the two-time mom went for a bespoke Anamika Khanna look. "We played around with a little semi-precious stone, some classic pearl work, and took inspiration from Black dandy style the minute details they added, why they chose them," explained the designer to Vogue India.
Designed by Anaita Shroff Adajania, the ensemble a white embroidered corset, black formal pants, and a white floor-length cape allegedly took 20,000 hours to embroider. Giving the custom outfit all the attention, Isha forewent earrings but sported several neckpieces and rings to complement her look. Her soft make-up and perfectly tied braid provided the ideal finishing touches. In certain images, she wore a white hat as well.
But the piece de resistance of Isha's appearance appeared to be the diamond necklace she was seen wearing. While some netizens opined that it had belonged to the Maharaja of Nawanagar and had also been featured in the film Ocean's 8, others maintained that it belonged to her mother, Nita Ambani.
Isha last year dressed in a hand-embroidered couture sari gown by designer Rahul Mishra, who explained to indianexpress.com that her attire, "named 'River of Life', is the philosophy of time as a medium that encompasses with itself perpetual change and development." "We have nurtured this look like a gardener would a garden.” Motifs and embroidery swatches from the entire journey since 2013 were taken out to be reinterpreted and gathered to create the surfaces on this gown. In the same manner that some trees would take decades to bloom and produce fruit and others might flower within weeks, I believe that this look is a culmination of our entire body of work," he said.
Also designed by Anaita Shroff Adajania, the look captured "nature's glorious and bountiful lifecycle which took over 10,000 hours to complete," as posted on the stylist's Instagram.
Other celebs strutting the Met Gala red carpet this year are Shah Rukh Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, pregnant mom-to-be Kiara Advani, Mona Patel, Natasha Poonawalla, and designers Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
