Popularly known as the ‘Princes of Hill Stations’, Kodaikanal is paradise for the nature lovers especially during the monsoon season in India. It is also known as a popular romantic destination for the newlyweds. The famous Kodaikanal Lake has an expanse of 60 acres and this star shaped man-made lake attracts hundreds of tourists daily since its creation in 1863 by Sir Henry Levinge. Unlike the other destinations, Kodaikanal has a priced possession called ‘Astrophysical Observatory’ which is one of the oldest observatories in the world. Kodaikanal is also known for its home-made chocolates and eucalyptus oil. The high-elevated town also has beautiful lakes namely Berijam Lakes, and Mannavannur Lakes which are rich in flaura and fauna where coracle rides and horse riding are easily available.
