The car enthusiasts were thrilled to see the  launch of Audi’s A3 compact sedan this festival season, which is incidentally the company’s most affordable vehicle in India. Priced around 25 lakh, the car made its Indian debut at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo in February, while the company made it available to the consumers this August. At 4.46 meters, the A3 is devised to slot in below the A4 as one of the entry-level models for the German car maker like most of its other new models under the VW umbrella.

The A3 sedan is available in both petrol and diesel variants in India. The petrol version will be the 1.8-litre TFSI unit churning out 177bhp and 250Nm torque, while the oil burner is the 2.0-litre TDI engine with an output of 141bhp and 320Nm torque. Both the engines will power the front wheels through the seven-speed DSG gearbox and will compete with BMW 1 Series and Mercedes-Benz A-Class in its segment.
