2. Ilaveezhapoonchira

With its lush greenery and amazing waterfalls, ilaveezhapoonchira is a paradise for the nature lovers. Poonchira meaning - the valley where leaves don't fall, is a beautiful valley spread across thousands of acres at the foot of three hillocks - Mankunnu, Kudayathur Hill, and Thonippara. The sunset view at ilaveezhapoonchira offers a vivid view with the whole sky turning purple.  Located across the border of Kottayam and Idukki district of Kerala, the trip to ilaveezapoonchira can only be made in a 4 wheel drive Jeep from the foothills.  Poonchira used to be a hidden getaway known to only a few travelers.
