Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 vs KTM RC 200: Who Wins the Race

Performance

The Over Drive magazine quotes that both Pulsar RS 200 and KTM RC 200 are almost similar, as both the bikes are powered by 199.5ccc single-cylinder four-stroke engine with 6-speed transmission. The KTM’s engine gives out a power of 25.65bhp and torque of 19.2 NM making the two-wheeler to run at a top speed of 138kmph.

While the Pulsar RS 200 exerts slightly low power of 24.2bhp and torque of 18.6 NM and Bajaj claims the new two-wheeler tops the speed of 141kmph in a long stretch. Yet with the claims we can’t judge it, if we consider the muscles the KTM is a winner.

The Bajaj features optional ABS (anti-lock braking system) in its RS 200 whereas the KTM features no such options. The front brake in the Bajaj’s two-wheeler is a 300mm butterfly disc and the rear tyre fitted with a 230mm butterfly disc. On the other hand, KTM RC 200’s front brake is stopped by a 280mm disc and a 230 floating rear disc adorns the rear tyre.

The KTM is lighter than its rival at 137.5kgs compared to 165kgs and RC 200 has higher ground clearance with 178.5mm while Bajaj with 157mm ground clearance. The Bajaj offers a 13-liter fuel tank where KTM is fitted with much smaller fuel tank capacity at 10-liter fuel tank.

Price

The Indian auto manufacture wins the pricing segment with 1.18 lakh to 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom) in Delhi. But KTM RC 200 comes with a price tag of 1.66 lakh excluding taxes. Both Bajaj and KTM motor bikes are sporty with design and similar performance. All that being said, it is up to the buyers to choose from these two options.
