Ayodhya Unveils World's First Ramayana Wax Museum Ahead of Diwali
- Ayodhya opens world’s first wax museum dedicated to the Ramayana
- Features 50 life-size statues and immersive storytelling
- Blends spirituality with art, modern comforts, and cultural tourism
Ayodhya, the sacred birthplace of Lord Ram, has added a major cultural landmark just in time for Diwali, the world’s first Ramayana-themed wax museum. Opened along the Chaudah Kosi Parikrama route, this 9,850 sq. ft. museum offers a unique blend of mythology, art, and modern technology to transport visitors into the heart of the Ramayana.
Designed in traditional South Indian temple style, the museum's stunning exterior sets the stage for the experience within. Inside, more than 50 realistic wax statues bring key moments from the Ramayana to life, from Lord Ram’s childhood and Sita’s swayamvar to the forest exile, Lanka Dahan, and the final battle with Ravana. Enhanced with 3D lighting and immersive sound, each display offers an unforgettable journey through the epic.
Created by Sunil’s Wax Museum, known for its installations in Lonavala and Thiruvananthapuram, the attraction reflects a fusion of South Indian craftsmanship and North Indian devotion. Visitors are welcomed by a grand idol of Lord Ganesha and can capture memories at a selfie spot beside young Ram’s statue.
The museum also caters to modern needs with air-conditioned halls, snack zones, a coffee studio, and 24x7 surveillance. Entry is capped at 100 people at a time to maintain a peaceful atmosphere. With tickets priced at Rs 100, it’s both affordable and family-friendly.
