Volkswagen's New Beetle to Launch in India on Dec 19


BENGALURU: Volkswagen is soon to launch the new Beetle in India on December 19. The company is determined that the new funky design, feature rich interiors and revised driving dynamics will do all the talking for the hatchback, reports Overdrive.

This ‘bug’ like classic car is entering Indian market for the second time and it has been all prepped up for new generation. The front face of the car showcases bi-xenon headlights with a range adjustment and LED daytime running lights. The sleek fog lamps, chrome strips as protectors, and so on. It now runs on a 16-inch ‘Whirl’ multi-spoke alloy wheels and is available in four bright shades namely Habanero Orange, Oryx White, Tornado Red and Blue Silk.

The interiors of the new Beetle looks similar to the old version but is enriched with the use of modern and premium materials on the trims. The company also provides customization for interiors and in addition to that it gets Climatronic dual-zone air-conditioning system, USB, aux-in, Bluetooth connectivity with an eight-speaker music system, panoramic sunroof, rain sensing wipers, start-stop system and cruise control.

The new Beetle is powered by a 1.4 litre gasoline motor that gives 150PS of power and 250Nm of torque and is paired with a 7-speed automatic DSG gearbox. Volkswagen has already started taking bookings for the Beetle in India at bookmybeetle.in. The price range varies from 35 lakh to 40 lakh and will compete with the Fiat Abarth 595.
