BENGALURU: India is a land of temples where people from diverse race, caste, religion, creed and culture visit the holy shrines as pilgrims. Indian temple knows no geographical bounds as they are located high on the snow clad mountain ranges of the Himalayas as well as on the waters of the sea.

Of these many holy places and their legendary stories behind it, below mentioned are some of the most unusual Indian temples:

Brahma Temple, Pushkar:

The Jagatpita Brahma Temple located at Pushkar, Rajasthan is the one of the few existing temples dedicated to Lord Brahma who is known as the creator god according to Hinduism. Legend says that, once Savitri—Brahma’s wife, was agitated to see Gayatri take her place during a yagna and cursed Brahma that he would never be worshipped on earth. Later, Savitri reduced the curse and permitted the worship to be confined to Pushkar. From then this temple which is believed to be 2000 years old still stands tall as one of the pilgrim spot.
