Mercedes-Benz C-Class and S-Class Cabriolet to Hit the Indian Market Soon

BENGALURU: The German car maker Mercedes-Benz is all set to expand the cabriolet range in India with the C300 and S500 cabriolet models. Mercedes-Benz India announced that it will be launching the new series in India on November 9.

The C300 cabriolet is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine offering 240hp power and 340Nm torque, coupled with 9- speed automatic transmission.  The machine can reach 100 km/h from standstill in 6.7 seconds and go onto a top speed of 250 km/h. It might also be available with a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system as well.

The S500 cabriolet will be powered by a 4,663 cc V8 bi-turbo petrol engine coupled with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and generates 455hp power and 700Nm of torque. The top speed will be electronically limited to 250 km/h. This would be sold along with the S 63 AMG Cabriolet in India.

Both the C300 and S500 Cabriolet use a fabric roof, which gets a three-layer construction along with acoustically optimized seals. On the S500, the roof can be opened or closed in just 20 seconds at speeds up to 50 km/h; whereas, it takes up to 24 seconds on the C300 at the same speed. The C300 Cabriolet will be offered with a Burmester infotainment system, and a Live Traffic Information system offering real-time traffic updates. The S500 Cabriolet comes with a Warmth Comfort package, which would provide optimum temperature for the seats as well as the arm rest, steering wheel, and doors.
