BENGALURU: After all the wait Royal Enfield has finally announced the launch date of its most anticipated adventure tourer The ‘Himalayan’ slated for march 16th 2016. The Himalayan is set to be priced under 2 lakhs, which will make it the most affordable adventure bike in India, reports CarandBike.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan is equipped with a neoteric single-cylinder and air-cooled 411cc engine, that powers out 24.5 bhp at 6,500 rpm generating 32 Nm torque at 4000-4500 rpm. Also Royal Enfield is featuring an all-new engine design by incorporating an overhead camshaft and counter balance. The RE Himalayan’s unique engine will be the most refined one with enhanced performance upgrade amongst the other Royal Enfield heritage engines produced till now. The “free revving machine” will offer a higher-range power band and prolonged service intervals which bestows riders to change oil after 10,000 km run.

Some of the other features that highlight these bikes include a 21-inch spoked front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel that facilitates a 220 mm of ground clearance. Royal Enfield’s Himalayan variant surprises with a monoshock rear suspension which includes suspension travel of 180mm. Furthermore, features like single tube chassis, round-shaped side mirrors, high-mounted spatter guard, continental GT-like fuel tank, twin-pot exhaust cluster, and digital MID, make RE Himalayan the perfect choice for riding on off and on road conditions. Royal Enfield will also offer a variety of add-on accessories that include hard-case panniers to carry luggage along with soft saddlebags and fuel canisters, which can be mounted and carried across the fuel tank.
