Car Of The Week: Maruti Suzuki Ritz Automatic

Bangalore: Maruti Suzuki has released the automatic variant of its successful model Ritz in the Indian market, as a strong reply to both Honda and Hyundai, who are the main contenders in this section with Brio automatic and i10 automatic respectively.

The hatchback comes with the famous 1.2 litre K- series petrol engine which churns out 85.8 Bhp of sheer power. Maruti has coupled the same 4 speed automatic gearbox from its Automatic versions of A Star and Dzire into the Ritz’s heart. The automatic will be available in one variant Ritz AT, carrying a price tag of Rs 6.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai.)

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has face lifted Ritz in late 2012 and the automatic version comes in these fresh looks combined with a powerful engine, which is expected to give the recently released Honda Brio AT, a run for its money. Ritz AT offers ABS and EBD as optional features, while the airbags are missing from the options. The cabin gets new dual tone upholstery, a claimed better rear seat comfort, driver seat adjuster, and new audio system with steering mounted audio controls and USB support. It will be available in a choice of six colors, New Mystique Red, New Breeze Blue, New Granite Grey, Silky Silver, Bakers Chocolate, and Superior White.
