Tranquebar was a Danish colony, which today stands as a witness to history of acquiring dominance in the spice trade. The only ozone-rich beach witnessed inception when Danes entered Tharangambadi or Land of the Dancing Waves was altered to ‘Trankebar’.
This sleeping fish village also holds the Bungalow on the Beach of the former British collector Neemrana. This residence is considered a heritage of this village.
